This article presents a comprehensive, verse-by-verse analysis of Daniel 9 through the Messianic-Historic interpretation—the traditional view of the Christian Church prior to modern Dispensationalism and liberal biblical criticism. It argues that the 70 weeks (490 literal years) represent a time-limited renewal of God’s covenant with Israel, beginning with Artaxerxes’ first decree in 458/7 BC and concluding approximately 3½ years after the Cross with the stoning of Stephen. By analyzing the poetic structure, chiastic literary patterns, and Hebrew phrasing in Daniel 9, the author demonstrates that Jesus Christ—rather than an end-time Antichrist—is the central figure who confirms the covenant and puts an end to the spiritual necessity of sacrificial offerings through His death.
